Windows Won't Update

Question/Problem: Windows Update won't work: Error 8024A000

Operating System, Version and Service Pack: Windows Vista Home Premium

Web Browser: Google Chrome 14.0.835.202

Your level of experience: Beginner-ish?

When did the problem start? Has it been going on constantly since then? Since I've upgraded to a 320gb harddrive from a 250gb one, ( Read more... )

You could try downloading and installing the cummulative, might make work properly. Over the years I've heard thar Vista is pretty wanky, my mothers laptop came with Vista inalled on it, it had so many problems we ended formating the drive and installing XP

Unfortunately I don't even have the XP OS to downgrade to. :p But I've been looking for websites that will explain how to install the updates like Service Packs manually. Hopefully I won't screw up anything like the order of updates I'm supposed to install outside the SPs themselves.

do a search for "windows cummulative update" that will link to the manually installed updates

Do you have the original Windows xp.. because i'm coming to say useless to update the windows if original ok. but if not just remove the automatic updates.

@Strycer is correct. Search instead of windows cummalative update... :D
