Hello all, a friend of mine who saw my cry for help on my personal LJ recommended I try this community for some assistance. I'm hoping someone here might have some ideas.
I'm currently working on a document that is 24 pages long in Word 2003. O/S is Windows XP, and my printer is an HP Officejet 6500 Wireless, model E709n.
The document is set up as follows:
- Pages 1-7 are in portrait format, followed by a Next Page Section Break.
- Pages 8 & 9 are in Landscape, followed by another Next Page Section Break.
- Pages 10-23 are in the same format as pages 1-7, followed by another Next Page Section Break.
- The last page (page 24) is landscape like pages 8 & 9.
When I print, or generate a print preview, one of two things happen. If I select "Flip Pages Up" in the settings, the first 7 pages print correctly in duplex printing, and the following pages print with the back page printing upside down. If I don't select "Flip Pages Up", the first 7 pages print with the back page upside down, and the rest of the pages printing correctly. It definitely seems as though the page breaks are part of the issue, but cannot seem to resolve it.
Also, in case it's pertinent, when the job spools, it will read 48/24 pages before it produces the preview copy or starts to print.
Troubleshooting already attempted:
- Google search to try to locate a similar issue being asked and resolved - only seemed to turn up full documents that were printing back pages upside down in duplex
- Tried to delete and reinsert the page breaks
- Tried to use different types of section breaks (next page break, odd page break, and continuous break) to see if any of these made any difference.
- Updates the drivers for my printer
- Double checked the page set up in each individual section and have not seen anything that would indicate it to print any differently
- Copied and pasted the document into a new file and attempted to print from that.
- Converted the file into .rtf to see if it would print correctly - it attempted to print in the same format as the original file.
Any other thoughts?
I realize that I can actually print this piecemeal in order to get the two parts to print alike, however, I need to actually send this for a mass
printing job, so I need to ensure that the print formatting is correct.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might have any insight.
