Viola's Profile

Mar 21, 2008 06:03

[NAME:] Viola "Violetta" Cadaverini
Because there's no way to shorten Viola into a cute nickname. >:U

[AGE:] 26, birthdate February 22, 1993 - making her a Pieces

[GENDER:] Female

[STATUS:] Single, not actively looking.

[SEXUALITY:] Straight

[FAMILY:] Bruto Cadaverini: Her beloved grandfather and head of the Cadaverini family. Viola is Bruto's pride and joy and the mafia head dotes on her like crazy. Likewise, Viola is deeply attached to her grandfather. Since he's now getting on in years (almost 80!), she's taking responsibility in caring for him, watching his health, preparing his meals, etc.

The Other Cadaverinis: Viola has a few uncles, none married, and they along with her father are all involved in the family business one way or another. None of them seem particularly capable to take over the family legacy. Viola isn't particularly close to any of them (including her father, who unlike Bruto is not a doting man), but she is not disliked nor does she dislike them-they all share the bond of family and that is enough.
Her mother had a frail constitution similar to her own, and passed away while Viola was in her teens from non-mafia related health causes. Being the only female in the extended family since her teenaged years, Viola has developed either a fondness for or a self-perceived responsibility to carry out domestic duties (cooking, baking, serving drinks, cleaning); this carried over to how she took care of Tigre when she believed they were lovers.

[FRIENDS:] Viola doesn't have many friends, angst angst angst-no, wait, she prefers it that way. She's rather introverted and talking is often a chore (she prefers not to answer questions directly). Plus, she rather enjoys startling strangers and acquaintances with her behaviour. She is not entirely friendless, though, and she trusts and is loyal to those friends she has-and expects the same treatment in return.

[NEUTRAL:] Phoenix Wright: She's thankful to Phoenix for "exterminating" Don Tigre (clarification: for making her realize the fact that she was loathe to admit to herself-that Tigre was being nice to her just because of her grandfather, and for getting him locked away in jail for his despicable actions), but she doesn't think much of the ex-lawyer other than that. He was a bit meddlesome when she had expressly told him not to be, though. >:|

The Kitaki Family: She knows of the Kitakis but is not familiar with its individual family members. The Kitakis are not exactly a rival gang, as the Cadaverinis still hold pretty much all the clout and "all the cash in the city's underworld black market" and so far the Kitaki's 'interests' do not clash with the Cadaverinis. Viola herself is not that occupied with her family's business, but she adheres to the lines set by her grandfather, and may be paying them the occasional visit for the purpose of 'improving relations.'

The Rivales Family: Another mafia family in the city. While the Cadaverinis are aware of the rivalry between them and the Kitakis, they have been loathe to step in and upset the dynamic, as it would do little to benefit themselves. It is probable that the Cadaverinis' presence is keeping the tension between the two gangs from escalating into open war. Again, Viola herself is not immensely involved in the entire business; she is merely aware of their presence and may pay them the occasional visit to improve relations.

Jean Armstrong: Viola doesn't particularly care for the chef or his effeminate behaviour. Since she has taken over Tender Lender since Tigre's incarceration, his outstanding debt now lies with her. That, however, is strictly a business matter and not personal. :D

[ENEMIES:] Furio Tigre: There are a number of reasons why Viola loathes and even hates 'Don' Tigre. Firstly, she truly loved the man and believed him when he claimed that he had paid for her operations willingly because he loved her; she suppressed her suspicions that it was because she was the granddaughter of Bruto Cadaverini. Now that the affair is over and done with, she resents that she was fooled so easily. She also despises how Tigre killed Glen Elg-though it's unclear what in particular about the murder she thought was evil, some component of it was incompatible with her own morals, which she set aside because he claimed the act was "all for her."
I'm assuming that while she makes a lot of veiled and not so veiled threats she doesn't actually go through with them; it isn't that she is incapable of killing or that she is disgusted with the idea (she's part of a mafia family, after all) but she is loathe to do so and has never actually taken a life. Glen owed money and was able to repay it; killing him for more was the despicable aspect.

[OCCUPATION:] Manager of Tender Lender. Her ailing grandfather's caretaker. ;o;

[HOBBIES:] Baking, playing the hostess, going on walks or taking the family's car out for a drive, sneaking up on people and spooking them in conversation or with her scary laughter. Her 'job' as manager of the Tender Lender is more a hobby than actual work, too; she does it primarily because it provides her with much amusement (she doesn't need the money, though she does like making her own as well).

[LIKES:] Fire and the way it crackles (or so she says), raw meat (really? so she says), coffee, espresso, tea (preparing and serving hot beverages? :D), cookies and cake (baking and having others enjoy them)... in essence, "taking care" of people. She also likes flamboyant personalities in stark contrast with her own - she really was attracted to how Tigre behaved (so sweet to her, so boldly to others)! She enjoys scaring people, but it would also amuse her to have someone not intimidated by her 'teasing' - so long as she was teasing and not actually making an earnest threat.

[DISLIKES:] Betrayal, having to answer questions directly. She doesn't dislike being the granddaughter of Bruto or a member of the Cadaverinis, but she does dislike people who lie about why they are giving her special treatment. >:U

[STRENGTHS:] As Bruto's beloved granddaughter, Viola has the full backing of the Cadaverini family as well as access to its wealth. She is quite skilled at intimidating others, what with her creepy mannerisms and laughter...and she's also pretty good at dodging questions by changing the conversation to unnerving subjects, though this probably wouldn't be effective on people with more resolve.

[WEAKNESSES:] Viola has a rather fragile constitution-car accident aside, she just doesn't have much stamina to begin with. She makes many threats but she doesn't follow through with them most of the time-having one threat disregarded means that she'll usually just make another one. She is not all that effective on her own, in other words. Should the matter actually be serious, she always has the final option of going to her family to have it resolved-but the problem would be dealt with in a very permanent manner; it's not something she enjoys having to do.
What I would also consider a weakness is the flexibility of her morals-or rather, how Viola is able and willing to place aside her beliefs for someone she loves, excusing their crimes. She's still well aware that they did something wrong, and it appears to still trouble her after the fact, but she is complacent out of love. ... But hey, some people find that admirable? @_@a

[APPEARANCE:] Viola is very short, standing at only 154 cm or roughly 5 feet tall, and is quite thin as well, giving her an almost corpse-like appearance. She has a rather sickly look to her, with dark, sunken eyes (or perhaps it's just that the skin near her eyes look perpetually shadowed). All of this apparently makes her exude an evil aura, but of course this effect is at least in part intentional. She wears a modestly plain dark dress that comes to her ankles, a white collared shirt underneath that, and a red bow around her neck. Those bandages that were on her during 3-3 are now removed, and are gonna be a bitch to sprite-edit out.
She has a creepy laugh, spooky not only in its sound but in how it looks halfway between a giggle and a cough that is gonna kill her. Or at least that's what it looks like to me. :|

[PERSONALITY:] Aside from her habit of sprinkling threats here and there, and alluding to poisonings or deaths or... other graphic, not usually kosher topics in conversation, Viola is quite a polite individual. She's not very talkative, and only raises her voice when she is insistent on a matter; otherwise, she takes long pauses and it seems that talking takes her much effort. She is introverted, and only opens up to those close to her (like her grandfather, for instance). I think I've mentioned her personality a lot in other parts, but again I'll restate that she enjoys unnerving others. And uh... hm. She's actually generally cheerful, and smiles a lot.

[BACKGROUND:] Four months before December 3rd, 2018 (that'd be... August - wait, that's off on the CR timeline, Croik), Viola got into a car accident while driving one of her family's cars. She swerved to avoid hitting a scooter, and while the scooter and the man on it only sustained light damages, she (perhaps on account of the swerving) took considerable trauma to the head, requiring surgery. The operation was simple, but was described as being very elaborate and expensive... and the person on the scooter, Furio Tigre, had to pay up. As Viola was the granddaughter of mob boss Bruto Cadaverini, Tigre agreed (on pain of retaliation) to give "compensation" for the accident - the money was seemingly for Viola's medical bills, but in actuality was blood money to the tune of a million dollars.
When she awoke, Tigre lied to Viola, claiming he was willingly paying the fees because he was in love with her-he also hid the fact that he was the person she had struck, but both that and his reason for being so nice to her bothered Viola in the back of her mind. She repressed those worries, however, as she had fallen in love with Tigre and earnestly wanted to believe his claims.
Thinking them lovers, Viola decided to repay Tigre by taking care of him and helping around the Tender Lender office, and for the next few months did just that. However, as December approached and the million dollar debt had to be repaid, Tigre got desperate. He needed a virus written by Glen Elg to sell on the black market to make the payment, but unfortunately Glen won the lottery and could pay back his debts-which were not enough to cover the The Tiger's ass. He poisoned Glen, and though she wasn't very happy at his actions, got Viola's help in setting up a fake crime scene for a witness to view.
Then along came 3-3 and Phoenix got her to admit to all of that, yadda yadda, stupid attorney. 8U
It's now been over a year since State v. Byrde, and Viola is quite comfortable in her role as new manager of Tender Lender. She's currently more concerned with attending to her aging grandfather, however, as Bruto's health is in decline.

For my own reference:
...With the warm and friendly atmosphere you'd expect from a family sized business...
...a conscientious rate of interest... and an attractive repayment policy...
...we will tenderly lend you that little bit extra, here at Tender Lender...
Tender Lender is...on your side... Hee... Hee... Hee...
