I didn't have lots of plans. But, I had intended to do certain things. Hang out with a good friend or two. Make some progress on things around the house. Get some work accomplished while others were away. Work on some new pieces. New music, new work flow, new writing. Alas, illness interrupted much of that. A respiratory illness got worse after the final Danse Libre performance of the year. A Z-Pak (antibiotic) helped get me well enough for a couple birthday celebrations by the end of the week. But, some sinus congestion remained along with a possible minor Crohn's flare. That means more resting and canceling activities. No housewarming. A birthday tea delayed again (from both of us being sick). And a different antibiotic to try. From what I was told, they've had to do multiple layers of antibiotics for many people this month. The Z-Pak often wasn't enough. This latest antibiotic has potential side effects that I don't like. Possible dizziness, mental impairment, sensitivity to the sun, and kidney issues. I don't like drugs that affect your mental state. I generally avoid them as much as possible. This one seems to have a bit of an effect. Making it difficult to focus. Not so useful for making progress on things today.
I'm still hoping to pop by New Year's Eve events and maybe do things during the day with friends. Though it'll depend on how I'm feeling. A friend flies back into town tomorrow and may call about plans. She's getting together with others who hadn't planned other things. I was reminded about halflab's annual gathering the other night. So, there are at least two places to consider dropping by to say hi to friends.
