Lessons, or a Series of (Un)fortunate Events in the Life of Andrew Hurley by eleanor_lavish
Andy/Patrick | NC-17 | 14,388 words
Summary: - - -
Patrick goes to Andy for help with a few things. ;) I have a few issues with this, but it's a great story, well-written with a lovely rarepair. Very satisfying and enjoyable. I love that it's from Andy's POV, there definitely needs to be more Andy fic.

Chord Change and (hold me, i'm a) Fermata by giddygeek
Patrick/Pete | Unrated, but sex in the first and none in the second | ~3600 and ~2,000 words
Summary: Try this instead.
Patrick turns boys in bands gay! Not perfect, with some clichés but good, and sweet, and a great Patrick/Pete OTP story.

The Hipster Wedding of the Century by just_katarin
De'mar/Nick | R | ~8,000 words
Summary: Nick and De'Mar get married for free swag.
This is one of those fics that you didn't realise you needed, until you read it. ;) Seriously, it's brilliant. I hardly know anything about these guys, but from what I do know, they're characterised perfectly. It's funny like whoa, sweet and adorable.

One Time Ryan Ross Needed Something Moved, and Four Times He Pretended He Did Just to Watch Tom Conrad's Smokin' Hot Bod by indianlands
Ryan/Tom | Unrated, but PG? | 2,067 words
Summary: Pretty much the title says it all.
Ryan is adorably faily here, I could totally see him doing this. Awesome pairing and funny, cute fic.

thirteen thirty-six one hundred by ofkitchensinks
Bob/Mikey/Spencer, Brendon/Ryan, Jon/Ray | R | 12,115 words
Summary: Spencer doesn't want to, like, jump his bones or anything, but he thinks if he asked him out, if he asked him anything, he'd say yes.
A really great, quietly ordinary, everyday domestic relationship fic, with an awesome bandom twist of gayness and threesomes.

Insert "What's Your Sign?" Cliche Here. (Insert Joke About Inserting Things Here.) by o4fuxache
Brendon/Spencer | R | 702 words
Summary: Spencer has curves. No. Spencer has amazing curves.
Funny, and adorable, and squeeful, awesome for under 1000 words!

Manifesto by ignipes
Panic GSF | PG-13 | 3420 words
Summary: It's never a good idea to believe everything you read on the internet.
Ridiculous and wonderful, this is the crack version of what we all wish was true. ;)

Maybe We're a Bliss of Another Kind by runthegamut
Bob/Patrick | PG | 1067 words
Summary: Bob and Patrick have a passive-aggressive battle over the trash.
Really cute and funny domestic fluff.

That Teenage Feeling by boweryd
Brendon/Jon | NC-17 | 9,075 words
Summary: So, Brendon has this problem where he’s maybe a technical virgin.
Kind of a bit ridic and cliché, but in a good way. Spencer is totally my favourite here.

the last good thing about this part of town by just-katarin
Patrick/Pete | R | 15,333 words
Summary: Fresh out of college, Pete Wentz is Patrick’s new Government teacher. That would be fine except they’re still Pete and Patrick.
This story is really beautiful. Joe is lovely, and Patrick is young, and Pete is Pete. Take heed of the warnings though.

i've been working on a piece [that speaks of sex and desperation] by greeenlikejuly
Brendon/Gabe, Jon/Spencer | R | 6,754 words
Summary: art star au! brendon is a not-quite-starving artist. spencer is a nudist and a jazz musician. jon cuddles kittens. gabe works on wall street. performance art ensues!
A weird and wonderfully eccentric fic. The characterisations are quite different, but it's an au, and these characters have different histories so you'd expect that. I'd just say it's not as recognisably bandom as some au's, but it's really interesting, I like it a lot.

Typical Girls by nokomis305
Gerard/Lyn-Z, Alicia/Mikey/Pete, Chantal/Jimmy (and others) | PG-13 | 67,000 words
Summary: When Gerard realizes that he’ll never get with Lyn-Z after his friends let him know she’s into girls, there’s only one possible course of action: dress in drag and join her punk rock Dolly Parton cover band in hopes of wooing her. High school AU.
This fic is so completely amazing, I don't even know what to say. ;) I do have to admit that I only started reading it because I was bored and wanted a long fic to read, but, I'm so, so glad I did! Also, I don't even really know much of anything about MSI, I've never heard anything of theirs and I'm not exactly sure who Chantal is, but none of that matters. This blew me away and I can't stop grinning. There is deceit, threesomes, humour, misunderstandings, slash, het, music, Gerard in skirts and high school, what's not to love?

The Flaming Box of Fiery Doom by ignipes and mahoni
Gen, pre-Bob/Gerard | PG | ~3,800 words
Summary: Gerard is a magician. Bob is his surly assistant.
I love the characterisations here, quirky and funny and slightly cliché. An awesome premise, an interesting and cute fic. The sequel is pretty great too, with actual Bob/Gerard.

Erasing All This Body's Known by disarm_d
Brendon/Spencer | NC-17 | ~21,700 words
Summary: "What the fuck?" Spencer says, once Brendon has walked away. "Did you see--? With the--?" Spencer pulls his lips back and says, "Grrr."
"With the him-being-a-vampire?" Ryan says. "Yeah, yeah I noticed that."
Sweet but sad, with humour. A lovely relationship story with a quirk. When I first read it, it just made me feel sad for a while, but I kept thinking about it, remembering the story and now I really love it. I've re-read it quite a bit, and it's just a great read.

rec: fic, rec, rec: fic: bandom, boys in the bands
