Ok, update!
So. I had a dinner party on Sunday. Me and my dad cooked, it went really well. I made an awesome Banoffee pie, that everyone loved, and mixed a weird watermelon/strawberry/apple juice-y cocktail that also went down well. \O/ Got kinda tipsy, played Harry Potter Cluedo (I cheated outrageously and still managed to lose) and my dad woke up early and cleared away the horrible mess we all left, win! ;D
Did you know that Australia has a public holiday for the Queen's birthday? England doesn't even do that! In all the states and territories except Western Australia it's the second Monday in June, but because WA has Foundation Day (something to do with the settlement of WA) on the first Monday of June, it was inconvenient to have it then. In WA it isn't set, but is chosen around the dates of the Perth Royal Show (big show-thing that lasts two-ish weeks, has rides, agriculture stuff, music, performers, and most importantly showbags!) and school holidays. And neither of these are even on the Queen's birthday. Oh, the whole point of this little lesson was that Monday was the Queen's birthday public holiday, hence the alcohol and merriment on Sunday. ;D
I've been watching V and V2 a lot recently and saw the Cookie Jar video!! So happy! I'm such a freak, I totally jumped up and danced to it, both times. There may have been some very very bad singing along too. Maybe. ;) ♥ Gym Class Heroes! I've also been downloading a whole lot of music recently, and even bought some actual CDs! Music is fun! In the last week or so I've become completely obsessed with The Fratellis. They're a Scottish band with funky, catchy songs. I love them!
Moar new icons! Are you surprised? I keep finding ones I love, then later thinking, just, not so much, and I'd get rid of them, but I know I've used them and I don't want to delete them and leave blank spaces all over lj. :( (That is what happens right?) Dilemma!
So impressed by Amazon right now! I placed my order on the 11th Sept, and it wasn't due to arrive until the end of October (I was not happy about that, but,) and it came yesterday!! :D So happy! I got: Clandestine Industries Presents: Release the Bats, The Quilt [Enhanced] (GCH!), My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue [EP] and Heroes Season 2. I love The Quilt CD! It's so pretty and I love reading the thanks and all that in the booklet. But, I just discovered the downloaded version I had been listening to had the tracks in the wrong order, so now I have to get used to listening to them in a different order, it'll be weird for a while. :/
I downloaded the MegaUpload Mega Manager and I'm pretty happy so far. The only bad thing is that it doesn't show percentages, it shows MB uploaded.
I'm in the process of uploading some music and I was going to put it on this post, but it's taking too long, so I'll make a separate post for it later. ;)
I also wanted to talk about lj changes and have a desktop meme, but this is enough for now, so watch out. ;)
