SANARA SINISTRA: 16 December 1941

Dearest Father,

I hope this letter finds you well. I have recovered from the slight chill I suffered the last few days, and promise not to get into any more snow ball fights, unless I am provoked. Tom was saying nasty things about Myrtle again, only she heard them and she threw the first snow ball, and I had to fight back because we can’t let Hufflepuffs beat us it’s a matter of house honour.
Minerva is returning to Scotland for Christmas, and Tom is spending Christmas day with her and Mr McGonagall. Why can I hope that you have a good celebration in London, and that Mrs Hooper is able to prepare something good to eat. I will be sending something home for you and Mrs Hooper and Eddie as soon as I organise the charm work. Do you think there will bombs Christmas week this year as well? I couldn’t bear to have you hurt while I was safe here. I’d much rather be there with you.

Elizabeth is going home for Christmas as well, of course, and I will send something with her to give to Mr and Mrs Prewett. Is that the right thing to do? I know mother always liked to write a card to Mrs Prewett. Is she suffering with the cold weather? Or is she just out of it? Will she able to have visitors soon and when are you going explain it to Eddie?

Olive and I will be able to spend most of the Christmas break together this year. We haven’t spoken much these last couple of weeks, but we have an Astronomy assignment due soon, and Professor Herbert has given us a substantial amount of History work to complete before we receive our essay questions next term. I do not know what went wrong between us, but I think our friendship (and study needs) are strong enough to put things right.

Please write to tell me if anything changes in London, or if you hear anything new about the War or Germany. I will writing to Evelyn, soon.

My love to you all,

1941, sanara_sinistra
