Graffiti in Korea - September 2007

A passerby stops to watch the creation of a new graffiti mural. He asks JIAL1 (right) why he doesn't paint something Buddhist, like a temple. He also wishes that the graffiti writers would use Korean characters instead of English letters. "That's not my style," JIAL1 politely replies.

Some older Koreans don't understand graffiti, but that it is still much more culturally accepted overall than in places like the United States where it is often considered vandalism irregardless of context, talent, etc.
