I took this photo of a street vendor in my neighborhood last night after spending 2 hours of practicing with my new camera (Canon Digital Rebel XTi) outside. The lens (Canon 50mm f/1.4) i bought with the camera body is amazing (beautiful colors and depth of focus); this was taken hand-held and without a flash... but it's also very challenging to get all the settings right to get a successful photo in such low light conditions (it's a fixed length so, no zoom, plus perfect focus is a particular challenge at night - this was the only photo i was happy with out of 150+). Anyway, I am very excited at the potential that this camera has. I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of pictures surfacing on this blog in near future.
