African reparations
During one of those rain-induced Sundays indoors, listened to radio 4's 'the world this weekend'. Was interested to hear a topic about Caribbean nations developing a proposal to seek reparations from the British government. The programme made the interesting point that slave holders were compensated and according to an academic speaker in the programme (Prof Hillary Beckles) slaves themselves were never compensated. Will be interesting to follow the progress of this development.
