Hi! I’m brumeier, and this week we’re going to be filling themes using 100 words or any multiple of 100. Today’s theme is JOBS, anything and everything about looking for or holding down or losing a job!

Stargate, All (200) (I'm going to fill this again, because this isn't what I wanted...)

The military had it easy. Their families had long ago learned OPSEC and classified and don’t ask. And “it’s safer for us all if you don’t know”. Along with “I’ll write when I can, but if you don’t hear from me, I love you and I’ll see you soon.” Even if they wanted to ask, most of them knew better. Military knew not to question and not to tell.

But the civilians and their families. Oh, there were questions. They wanted to know where their loved ones were going. And for every one that was answered, there were five or ten or twenty more. NDAs were offered when appropriate, but more often than not, there were creative stories.

A subterranean lab.

A dig on the other side of the world (with no satellite phone reception.)

A boring cafeteria job (for the cook that got drafted when the military cook wasn’t good enough for a high ranking general.)

Some creative translating for a high-ranking official.

A scientist who might seem to be in the wrong place, but wasn’t.

But in the end… truth really was stranger than fiction. And no one actually knew where the members of Stargate command ended up.

Well, this is even more amazing than I expected, so I like this fill, even though it's not what you wanted. Thank you so much! I love all the creative things the civilians come up with. Well done!

*blushes* I'm still hoping to fill it again. I had an idea, but it's not coming together for me as of yet. I'll see what happens. Thanks! I had fun thinking of them.
