I am currently making a lot of progress of moving lots and lots of dirt.. the garden is phenomenally AWESOME...
This is my before picture..of leveling the dirt and removing everything from the side of the garden.. I have plans on planting some of my newly discovered roses growing in the grass from root cuttings.. 3 new white tea roses, and my girlfriend gave me another red mini red rose..I am planning on planting them on the outside of the garden like the Spanish Lavendar.
Look I found lizard eggs..actually 3.. I have them in dirt on the patio.. I am hoping it is moist enough for them.. or they won't make it.
In the transplanting of trees it says not to trim until a year has passed. Even though the branches on these look pretty dead and ugly, they have some green still inside. Anyhow, my girlfriend called me last night to ask if I want her spikey plants.. Can't think of their name right now.. but, they are drought resistant and have beautiful white flowers with streaks of bright purple in their center. So I have these planted between the three palms. the dead palm fronds just get in the way for a decent picture. I am very bountiful.
This is as far as I got yesterday/Friday about 12 noon..had a bad headache.. but, I had pulled all the weeds on the back wall and here..and it needed to soak.. the dirt felt like concrete.
So, I moved to this project on Friday.. trimmed and edged my beautiful Rosemary bush, so I could plant a gift of a purple Hycinth.. I have been wanting one for years..actually decades. Pulled weeds and leveled the area and pulled out a lot of extra dirt so the patio could drain better.
Here is my new Hycinth in its new home.. My girlfriend just up and gave it me after she removed it from her front yard.. It's like a 4 or 5 year plant, she hasn't replanted it yet and felt it was going to die, so she gave it to me.. that is too awesome.. can't wait for it to start sprouting climbers.
I am just around the corner to getting this project finished.. All the weeds were pulled.. my nose didn't seem to mind too much..the weeds tickled my face a few times, almost poked my eyes with some of the stickers, but I survived.
Now I am soaking this area behind the garden; this is my next focus. I have a blister.
This much was done around 10:30 am today. Yay. Leveling and pounding the dirt firmly takes a lot of 90's Rap music and some Salsa.
So, I have some work to do still in clearing out the weeds, leveling the dirt, but everything is growing awesome.. green and wonderful. I have so many squash growing that they have slown down the process of the few that looked like they would be ready last week.. now the plant is covered with flowers.
Keeping the weeds conquered is taking a lot of time.
I separated the Pablamos chilis and red/yellow bell peppers so they wouldn't be crowded. They are a little wilted, but the Pablamos chilis are already looking perky again. My girlfriend handed me her little cages to hold my plants up.. I keep trying to give her some plants..smiling.. But, everytime I need something. whalla, it shows up.. these little half metal cages are awesome.
