Ros and I entertained our neighbour Amelia yesterday with lunch at The Juggs Inn, Kingston. It would have been her 52nd wedding anniversary although her husband died almost six years ago. She doesn't get out much and thoroughly enjoyed the occasion. The weather was fine, clear blue sky and 6⁰C.
Our favourite Sussex pub
My choice of food was inevitable. Beer battered cod fillet (delivered to the pub fresh daily from Newhaven harbour), peas and chips.
The ladies enjoyed Sussex apple and pork sausages, on a bed of mash with fresh vegetables and rich gravy. They also shared a chocolate brownie dessert with fresh cream and cherry compote. I made do with an espresso coffee.
It was another most enjoyable day.
