The Pull List - 13th Feb 2008

Big, budget-blowing week -

BOOSTER GOLD #0 - Booster's saved Ted so now what? Timestream hilarity ensues in a Zero Hour crossover. Hey, I liked Zero Hour...

COUNTDOWN TO FINAL CRISIS #11 - Last week set the stage by having all hands converging on Apokolips - so how does this all tie together? Especially with Piper? I mean, Piper?

GOTHAM UNDERGROUND #5 - Lots of big dumb stuff I can't remember still going on. But I like it.

GREEN LANTERN CORPS #21 - The Alpha Lantern thing spills over into a two issue fill in.

SALVATION RUN #4 - See what I said for Gotham Underground but bigger and dumber.

SUPERMAN #673 - Insect Queen hasn't been a great one for Busiek to bow out with.

WONDER WOMAN #17 - Gail Simone's debut arc has been mostly fun but it seems like it's been a little prolonged too, even if it is only four issues. There's also a feeling of 'been there done that' - we just got over the Amazons Attack debacle, and Paradise Island is also under occupation in Countdown (which I'm assuming takes place before this story) so it's all a but underwhelming. But there are warrior gorillas, which is nice.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #550 - Last week's issue was pretty solid and at least Spidey seems to have a clue about Jackpot's secret identity. The Brand New Day continues to be damn enjoyable.

CAPTAIN MARVEL #3 - Seems like forever since the last issue of this mostly dull mini came out. Incredibly pompous and overly self-important might be a good way to describe it, although at least Lee Weeks is doing stellar work. At this point I'm getting it because it ties into the Skrull thing.

FANTASTIC FOUR LOST ADVENTURE - Lee. Kirby. Fantastic Four. Nuff said.

FANTASTIC FOUR #554 - Millar. Hitch. Fantastic Four. Maybe...I'm still not sold as I don't think these characters will benefit from Millar's blunt force approach.

NEW AVENGERS #38 - Gaydos returns to Jessica Jones to handle her break-up with Luke Cage. It feels like a talky issue to me.

NOVA ANNUAL #1 - Rich Rider is an all time favorite character of mine so I'm glad the book's lasted this long. Thing is, I'm not sure that it's been done any favors by Conquest and I'm ont certain it can exist alongside the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy...

SPIDER-MAN FAMILY #7 - At some point I'll get this, although I still haven't picked up last issue's Thor Frog extravaganza.

WOLVERINE #62 - I've dropped this book, but Ron Garney's art in the previews for this 'Get Mystique' arc looks gorgeous.

X-FORCE #1 - Taking a look but no promises.
