as observed from my living room window, 249 melrose st, third floor, bushwick, brooklyn, new york, approximately five minutes in duration, 4pm, 4th of july

)trees: 1, held up with sticks and string
)sounds: latin music with guitars and vocals, man's voice singing to music, children playing, water, traffic
)smells: a barbecue grill with burning charcoal

)open parking spots: 0
)happenings: 1 woman on beach chair (as always) with bright red hair watches the neighborhood, 1 man sorting garbage and hosing down sidewalk; 1 bird chases 1 rat under a car; 2 men leave apartments separately; 1 woman brings trash out and before returning inside, lifts her shirt and adjusts the elastic waistband of her pants, and then goes back inside and leaves door to apartment open; one child with baseball glove; one mother and daughter leave laundromat, daughter crying but no tears, mother shakes daughter off of her; 4 hipster kids enter laundromat, a man with cigarette and glasses strolls down sidewalk, one man waits, sitting on doorstep holding plastic bag
