We did it. I have such a crush on Barack Obama. He and his wife are like, the prettiest couple EVER. I have such hope for this country's future. We WILL get out of Iraq. Gay marriage WILL be legalized in most(ideally every, but let's just say most) states. Abortion will no longer have such a negative stigma attached to it and be recognized as a choice(whether it's a good choice or a bad choice is up to the individual making it, but it's still a choice). I have to admit, I had my doubts. McCain, taking Palin out of the equation, "fit the mold" of what I thought the President had to be. Old, grumpy, and Pro-Iraq. Barack Obama came out of left field and inspired America. The world. I mean, I'll still be a little pissed when a Presidential Address pre-empts HIMYM or Chuck, but I'll still sit in front of the TV and listen. Because I believe.
And the love that he so obviously has for his wife and daughters is inspiring and very touching. He's not just "The President". He's "My President." Our President. I mean, he's got a hell of a job in front of him and I think he'll step up to the challenge. He might fail on some things and succeed on others and that's okay. As far as I was concerned with this election, we had nowhere to go but up. And up we go. Up, up, and away.
Bring it on, America. Obama will be ready.
Yes We Can. ♥
