i think i missed the memo
did we get a notice saying we were done with school? that we were now adults? that prom was tomorrow? i think i may have missed it. i really should stop skipping classes because then maybe i would be informed of these things.
but no really, when did all of this happen? who remembers their first day of kindegarden? for mine we all piled into ms. rosens room and she asked us how many of us had butterflies fying around in their stomachs and slowely, one by one, everyone raised their hand. now high school is over and before we know it we are going to be shipped off to college and those butterflies are going to flying around in our stomachs all over again. oh man, are they going to be flying. they are going to be making babies they're going to be flying so hard. wow that sounds really wrong. but ok enough with the extended metaphor. im just weirded out by all of this. but also extremely excited, esp. about prom tomorrow. it is going to be amazing.
anyways after all of that blabber i will leave you with a funny story a la my dad...
(we are at tara tai restaurant, where i got a tropical juice drink)
my dad: how's the drink?
me: good
my dad: are you drunk yet?
me: um, it doesn't have alcohol in it dad
my dad: it doesn't??
my mom: they wouldn't serve her alcohol in a restaurant!
my dad: oh...at the wedding (my cousins wedding next weekend) you can have a drink with alcohol in it
me: ok, yay
my dad: wait! by the time the wedding comes you will be 18 and it will be legal for you to drink there
me: what?? the drinking age is 21 dad, not 18.
my dad: not at weddings
me: no, its always 21
my dad: i don't think so
my mom: are you feeling ok?
