Just Wondering
I know I have some Canadians on my wonderful flist, and I have a question out of curiosity.
Does Canada have the same political parties as the US, i.e. Republican, Democrat, etc? Or do they have different names and/or definitions? I understand most of the political process there (similar but a little different) but this continues to mystify me.
I'd also like to know how the party leader (and, in effect, the maybe-Prime Minister) is selected. Is there a vote among the politicians or is it a public vote? Or am I getting it mixed up? (I'm going off the official website, so one would THINK they had it right. XD)
Or you could just brush me off as an ignorant American (not very proud of it, either). For what it's worth, I've been looking up immigration crap to see what I'd have to go through to move to the True North. XD
