So I got a call this morning from the woman who cleans our house. She had emergency gallbladder surgery overnight. I told her to give me a call when she was back to her routine. But...I had the house tidied up a bit in preparation for her coming later in the day, so that's cool...vacuumed, did some spot steam cleaning, got the laundry done.
I really think if my work week was 4 days instead of 5, I would feel like I had a better handle on life and would complain less.
Maybe.
Heh.
Since originally I needed to make myself scarce this afternoon for the cleaning person, I scheduled a dance lesson for the afternoon...with or w/o Steve, who had to work. (of course) It was the BEST lesson...and really, when the teeny tiny dance teacher tells the fatty student that she feels "really light....you're weightless to lead", well, that's better than getting carded in your 40s!
But here's the other ego boost---dance teacher is seeing studio owner. Who is the brother of our new engineer. Who is the brother in law of our business manager, who introduced me to Steve. Got that? (Yeah, there may be 250K people in this city, but it's just a big small town) ANYway....Engineer, his bro and dance teacher were hanging out last night, and engineer apparently said some pretty great things about me. Like, I'm the best PD he's ever worked with. Like, I'm "really, really smart". And the most surprising to me..."She's the best thing that company has".
Um. Wow. THOSE are some words of praise that really mean something to me. Because I respect Ed immensely. And to know that he respects me is good to know.
And last week I DID propose to him and ask him to be my work husband.....
Weekend plans...eh. Paint, I guess. Have lunch with a friend. The house is cleanish, laundry done, and even giftmas shopping is mostly done, without stepping foot in the local maul.
