-What do you like about your friends/best friend?
-Would you rather have one close friend for the rest of your life or a group of friends? one close friend. it’s better to have one person completely understand you than several people not know you at all.
-What awesome traits do you have that should get you accepted into the community? I am highly amusing and fun. I have somewhat questionable musical tastes (we’ll call me “eclectic” for argument’s sake). I can take a joke. Not to mention, I’m highly intelligent. :)
-What three communities are you most active in? l_o_v_e_icons, hpguysdaily, and masque_icons
-If you could do anything to Flavor Flav, what would you do? first: thank him profusely for kicking New York to the curb (crazy psycho bitch!!), and secondly: ban him from television for all time.
-If you could have wild sex with any person in the world, who would it be and where? Ewan Macgregor on a pretty pretty beach somewhere…probably in Greece
-If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Albert Einstein because he just seems silly and spry enough to keep me on my toes…or alternately (should Mr. Einstein not be available) Mark Twain.
-If you could kill one person, celebrity or non-celebrity who would it be? my boyfriend’s ex-roommate, Michelle. She hates me because I’m dating my boyfriend and she isn’t. He had to move in with me because she wouldn’t let him live with her while he was with me. Yeah. Go fig.
-If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Germany, because it’s a beautiful country and my family’s from there.
-Favorite childhood memory: walking up the steps of a lighthouse in South Carolina just to see the view.
-What are your views on...[pick five]
Abortion: Recently I’ve had mixed feelings on abortion. I’m not exactly pro-choice, but I don’t believe it’s right for the government to say a woman has to have her child. I believe it comes down to a personal choice. It’s a case by case basis.
Substance abuse: I think it’s sad that people turn to drugs and alcohol to make themselves feel better or complete. My mother is a recovering alcoholic, but that addiction will always be there. I, personally, don’t do drugs because I know what they do to your body, and I’d like to have some healthy babies one day. I drink only occasionally, but when I was in college, I drank pretty much every weekend just to get drunk. Since I’ve moved on though, it’s just not that important to me. I think addiction is unfortunate, but it happens. We’ll never be able to completely rid our society of drugs and alcohol. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Stem-cell Research I’m all for it. If it can cure cancer or Alzheimer’s or dang, the common cold, it’s worth it.
The Death Penalty I work at a state prison in Missouri, so I’m for the death penalty. It comes down, once again, to a personal feeling. I’ve grown up with my father working for the Department of Corrections, so I’ve always been exposed to these stories about people who murder and rape and mutilate and I just think that needs to be punished swiftly and harshly. Esp. child molesters and the such. I think those that murder are (most of the time) a one time deal, but child molesters will go back out and molest again and again and again. How many victims do they need to have before they finally get locked up forever?? *stepping down off my soap box*
Evolution vs. Creation Science I think there should be a combination of both taught in schools. Maybe not “God created the heaven and the earth,” but “something” created a monkey man and a monkey woman and then they evolved into humans. Or even teaching both sides of the argument. Let kids form their own opinions. They’re not as stupid as we like to think.
-What do you want to be when you "grow up", or if you are already grown up, what did you want to be when you were younger?: When I was little, I wanted to be a teacher, an artist, a mommy, and a fashion designer. Now I just want to be a mommy and an interior designer and/or a lawyer. (I haven’t changed much.) :)
-What is one of your hobbies that you really love and why? Reading. I’m a toooooootal dork, but I love to read. I love delving into books and becoming those characters. Suddenly, you’re invested in their lives and you care about who they are and what happens to them. That’s really cool to me.
-Name three of your interests: Reading, writing, and drawing.
-Something you know now, that in retrospect, you wish you'd known "then" The pretty girls get fat after high school. (Vindication is mine!)
-Inner most desires: To be thinner and more accepting of myself. And to be one of the women in the circus that rides the horses while standing or upside down, or whatnot.
-Describe yourself in 5 words: fun, crazy, needy, intelligent, cold (physically, not mentally or emotionally)
Top three books that you feel were written about you and why:
Book 1: Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.
Author: Judy Blume
Explanation: The story is basically about a young girl wanting to grow up so badly. It describes how I felt at 11 perfectly. I wanted to be a “woman” and couldn’t wait to grow up. Now I wish I was 11 again…
Book 2: One For The Money (and it’s subsequent sequels)
Author: Janet Evanovich
Explanation: I am Stephanie Plum. I’m always getting into stupid situations and manage to work my way out of them miraculously. And I’m constantly embarrassed by my family, but they’re still the best thing in my life.
Book 3: Wicked
Author: Gregory Maguire
Explanation: I can relate to people not understanding or knowing my life or who I am, but making a snap judgment based on one of the smallest parts of my life (or my movie, if I were the Wicked Witch of the West).
Top five songs that make the soundtrack of your life and why
Song 1: Unwitten
Artist: Natasha Bedingfield
Why: I often have problems saying what’s on my mind or what’s in my heart, so sometimes people don’t know who I really am. I just need to suck it up and speak!
Song 2: Stupid Girls
Artist: Pink
Why: Finally a song for the rest of us!
Song 3: Girl’s Guide for the Modern Diva
Artist: Black Box Recorder
Why: Fun, funky, dance-y song that is just terribly amusing. This band is just awewsome. And, I love all things British.
Song 4: Happier
Artist: Guster
Why: It’s basically a song about drawing someone out and saying, “you screwed me, are you happy now??” It’s a good angry/sad/cranky song.
Song 5: The Oatmeal Song
Artist: Mike Birbiglia
Why: If you haven’t heard this song, you should because Mr. Birbiglia is one of my favorite comedians and the song is about different religions and their interpretations of God. It makes me happy.
Top three movies you should have starred in and why:
Movie: Ever After
Why: Because it’s a Cinderella story and I’ve always fancied myself a Cinderella type. I’m the kind of girl who would rather he come to her than go out and find myself a man. And that’s a fantastic movie.
Movie: Mulan
Why: I’m not what my parents want me to be, but in the end, they’re proud of who I’ve become.
Movie: Casablanca
Why: I’ve had to make some tough decisions in life and had to chose what’s safe over something I love.
-Do you consider yourself unique? Why? Oh yes. I was one of those dorky “gifted” kids in school, but my mother tried to make me feel better by telling me I was “unique” and the thought has since stuck. I suppose the fact that I’m just a little weird may be another reason….
-What are some characteristics you admire in yourself & why? I like my sense of humor. I find the most obscure things amusing and I love that. I’m easily amused, so I’m a cheap date. I admire my strength. I had to grow up fast, and I’m doing okay now.
-Are you tired of filling out this survey? Nope. I like surveys . Because I’m a masochist. (My butt is tired of me filling out this survey)
-Is it worth it? I hope so.
-If we give you no's, will you bitch and cry about it? If you do, do you care that we might ban you because you obviously didn't read the rules? Um. No. I’m a big girl, I can take it.
-How did you hear about this community? Just tooling around on the LJ.
-Please take this time to rack up some brownie points and kiss our asses.
You guys are pretty! :) And I like the name of the group. Very nice. And…did I mention you’re pretty??
