Update time.

I figured it might be about time for a "what the heck are you doing" post, because so much has changed recently. The most major thing is that I finally, finally, finally found a job. I'm "client services specialist" for a company called IOD incorporated. What that means is that I work in medical records at the local hospital and mail people copies of stuff all day long. In addition, I get to deal with all the requests from the billing office and all walk ins, as well as phone calls. Did I mention that no one has been doing this job since January and there's an enormous backlog of requests for records? It's a little overwhelming, but I LOVE it. I love working in medical records and I have missed doing it. I applied for this job back in March, probably, and somehow I just knew when I applied that I would get the job, or at least be interviewed. (Really, how many unemployed people in this little town have experience in medical records?) And it's great. Full time, benefits, 401k, and the money is *really* good. Certainly better than I've had in any other job. I was supposed to go to part-time eventually, but the director of medical records has already told me that I can count on being full time. I can't imagine being only part time. Just dealing with the day to day stuff this week has taken my entire eight hours. The MR director did tell me things slow down on Thursdays and Fridays, so maybe I'll be able to catch up a little.

The other great things that have come of my getting a job is that I have a checking account for the first time in three years... and I was finally able to set up a loan rehabilitation plan for my student loans. And my payments are going to be only a quarter of what I make monthly, so we can start making some plans a few months down the road to replace poor, tired, sad Dan. I can't wait to get a new car. I am really hoping to find another Mitsubishi Galant. I miss my old one. It was the best car I've ever had (if you don't count it crashing into everything and having to replace the entire transmission, but that was a defect in that particular year that got recalled). I'll have to see if the Mitsubishi dealer here sells used cars.

That's pretty much it. I'm going to go get something to eat, do a load of laundry, and have an early night since Chris is at work. I'm TIRED.
