Mesh Computers - what can I say, except they really are a pile of wank.
Google, of course, will tell you many horror stories along this line, should you be bothered to look. This will be a brief addition to this litany. Regular readers will know I decided to get rid of an 04 vintage PC that's been sitting in a box for for the last two years.
Of course, I needed to wipe everything from it before I could dispose of it, and to do so I needed the recovery disk with Windows XP on it according to Mesh support. Surprise I never got it/no longer have it and my only solution (according to Mesh support) is to order a replacement one. At the best part of £80 sterling, which they would only deliver to the UK mainland.
So I get the disc eventually, and decide to do it..but of course, the recovery disk doesn't do as promised. Many annoying tech support calls to India later, I finally get told that I do not actually need that £80 disk - oh no, what I need is pre-installed on the computer and only a "secret" click away. Nice of them to tell me that after i spent £80.
So to cut a long rant short, Mesh lied, sold me something I didn't need and then after numerous (international) calls and long hold times, finally told me the "secret" I needed to know, which they could have told me the first time I explained what I was trying to do.What a lovely company, huh?.So now, another Google hit, and another recommendation to never do business with Mesh Computers for an reason whatsoever. I'll be glad to see the back of my Mesh PC frankly. Good riddance to the product of a useless company.
I should have just stuck Ubuntu on it instead!
