This time, I went crazy and built a village (or as much as I could within the lot size constrain) instead of just the places I need. And I'm very happy about it! :D Has anyone played Harvest Moon before? (My version was Back to Nature.) I played it for years, from 10 to about 16+ years old. And I still get the urge to pull out my dusty Playstation One to play it, especially after building Silveracre (which had parts that was supposed to look like the village in Harvest Moon BTN, lol).
This is how it looks like overall. Mejaine's house is not in here because she and Zaelem are supposed to live at opposite ends of the village. :P
Let's start with the centrepiece: the Square. This is the place where festivals are held and where villagers gather for meetings and things like that.
At the bottom right…
… is the barn. They rear and sell animals. Love the horsies! :) (Download:

Taking the turn to the left…
… would take you to Zaelem's house. :)
Here's the 1st floor. The 2nd floor is empty, haha. :P
And this is our first Easter egg! That man is Zaelem's father. Do you even have to guess who the lady is? :P
Oops, someone forgot to turn the radio off.
And now, for the second Easter egg: spot something already? No? D:
A GRAVE!! Dun dun dun! I am flabbergasted that nobody said anything about it. It actually appeared twice, once in the story and once on the cover picture.
So, connecting the dots now, Zaelem's mother has already passed away. That's the mini backstory. :(
Opposite Zaelem's house would be the inn.
The 1st floor. The inn is the only place here rich enough to have electricity and a phone line.
2nd floor. I have no idea why I furnished it at all. Somebody, save me. D:
Along the corridor of 2nd floor.
Every room had a single bed, a lamp, a cabinet and an end table. And a main colour. :)
Back to the road, we're now approaching Zaelem's other neighbour.
This is just an empty house, hehe. Looks like I'm still sane.

Okay, back to the street again.
Going forward brings you to…
… two similar houses. o_o I ran out of ideas, lol. These were the last houses I built.
The red house has reddish furniture,
and the blue house, of course, has blue furniture.
I don't know why I feel the need to give houses staircases when they have an second floor though. XD
The two houses sit facing a community pond where Zaelem learnt to hang his fishes like laundry, haha. (
Chapter 3)
View from pond to the two houses.
Next to the blue house is the, uh, building where ceremonies like weddings are held. (I don't want to call it a church as they don't have religions. :\)
I was very surprised to discover that doors and windows can be placed on diagonal walls. XD
From inside the, uh, building.
That's the pond and the Square behind the pond and the barn behind the Square. Are you confused already? :P
Beside this building is another house. With white picket fence. ^^
They probably weaved baskets for a livelihood. And they have a staircase too. :D
The signpost in front of the pink-yellow house, where Zaelem and Mejaine met up.
Beside the pink-yellow house is…
… an ugly house. Lol, I don't really like it, somehow. It's too… Un-village-y. And I forgot to give it a planter box. *smacks forehead* I had wanted every house to have flowers and chimneys.
Eew, yuck. X(
Turning left again…
… brings you to the front of a small house. :) I like small houses. And I love the mod that allows me to open the windows! I still remember gleefully watching the shutter slide open the first time, hahaha. (Download:

Another side of the house.
Again, somewhat furnished. There's a bed and an end table on the 2nd floor. Somebody, hit me over the head. D:
These sheets are animated! They would fly like there was a light breeze that picks up and dies over and over again. I was so amazed, haha. :D
The last house, which is too big/rich to be village-y too. No love for it. :(
And we're back to the Square! :)
For extra weirdness, I kept the map of the area till the end of the tour, hehe.
Anyway, I want to explain this bit about Zaelem saying,
"Even if you don’t know what you want, you do at least know what you don’t want, right?" Hiatus post will be up soon! :)
