It's rather amusing that I actually have things to write about. Since Monika moved down, life has been one endless adventure. Friday night was spent watching movies and teaching Dave how to play Asshole.
Saturday was a really long day. Sometimes you just don't know where the day is going to take you. There was a lot of waiting for something exciting to do and sitting around with Mon and my roommates friend Jessica. Now, I don't like Jessica at all. She's a moron. She reminds me of Ingrid too much for me to ever like her, but for some reason, Julia acts like this girl is just mad cool. Now, I don't mean to sound stuck up, but I'm quite choosy about my friends. I don't chill with people that annoy me or piss me off. I'm not the type to deal with superficiality, fakeness or other manners of pleasantry if I don't like you. You're either in or you're out. This Jessica girl laughs after she says anything and her conversation is less than delightful. She's almost 30 years old, can't drive, lives with her mom and works for barely $6.15 an hour. But according to Julia, she's brilliant and book smart and wonderful. Yeah, I just don't buy it. I wonder if Julia will try to sell me a bridge in Brooklyn next.
Saturday night, Monika and I were invited to a Bachelorette party. A Mormon Bacherlorette party. This would be much different than a regular bachelorette party, because you just don't know what you can and can't say to offend people. Monika and I stuck mainly to ourselves, but I did share plenty of details about the previous week with Jenny who really isn't as innocent as she makes herself out to be. After the house portion of the party, we all went salsa dancing. Adorable Monika managed to find herself a Latin lover whom she ditched promptly when he left her to get a drink. Oops.
We saw a band busking, joined in to play the shakers and dance and met the guitarist David whom said he would be contacting us the next night for an open mic thing he was going to. We headed back to the car and tried to head home. But that's when we saw them. Yeah, that's right. Two boys hitchhiking on Tryon Street in front of Amos' SouthEnd. We ask them where they are going, to which they reply, Athens. Being my usual dumbass self I say, "Georgia?" They laugh and say, nope, the restaurant, but if we want to take them to GA they wouldn't refuse.
They invite us into Athens, which we try to decline, but then agree to. They try to force feed us pancakes. We see a fight complete with sucker punches. We leave and take them home and finally after convincing Drew that we really didn't want to come in, left.
Last night we headed to Tyber Creek for open mic night. David, Monika and I went outside so he could tune his guitar. He started playing on the patio and then suddenly the crowd from inside came out to hear him. It was quite the fun night.
In all, I'm exhausted. I'm getting to be such an old lady. Hopefully all this running around will be good for me. And who knows, maybe I'll find a latin lover of my own.
Oh and as a completely random side note, this woman named Florence that I used to work with at Jersey Mikes apparently robbed a Jersey Mikes this morning with a claw hammer. Thank God I don't work there anymore. That so could have been me that was hit in the head.
