Ramblings

I'm so excited! I've got a new roomie! Okay, so I've roomed with her before, but it's been six years since we've officially lived together. Anyway, that's right, Monika finally moved in with me. It felt so good to get her away from Mom and Pennsylvania and the boredom that is life up there.

Let's back track for a moment. Saturday night was Kat's going away party at Jason's house. I somehow became the biggest asshole ever. I ended up insulting many of the guys there, which I feel bad for now. Anyway, I sat among the who's who of Charlotte's underground punk, metal and southern rock scene. The Dead Kings, Mad Brother Ward and the Dividers, Antiseen and Gideon Smith and the Dixie Damned were all represented.

The guys were really nice or at least they seemed to be really nice. But as soon as I walked into a conversation with Russ (Mad Brother Ward) and Jeff (lead singer of the Dead Kings), I was told basically told by Russ that I was just so young and inexperienced in the world. And well, that pissed me off. So Russ became my main target for the rest of the night. I guess he's the sensitive one, "The Beacon of Hope" or something, I don't know. Anyway, I probably came off like a huge jerk, but I doubt I'll really see those guys around unless I end up at a show.

The night was amusing, but I always feel strange when I'm around a group of people I don't know. Julia and I ended up bowing out early.

Sunday - I flew into Pittsburgh. I arrived at the airport to find that I had no ride. Monika's boyfriend's car broke down on the way to get me. Chris, Nikki and Monika were all stuck in downtown Pitt. I had to rent a car and fight 4th of July Pittsburgh traffic to go retreive them. The whole situation just wasn't fun.

We watched fireworks from one of Gay Danny's table's in a Monroeville restaurant, treated ourselves to two etch a sketches and left for the night.

We dropped the rental car off on Monday and my little brother and I had some time bonding. Neighbor Terry, Monika and I went to run errands. NT actually sang in the car with us, earning brownie points. Monika had her going away party. Megan, Smith Myers, Jake, Monika and I played asshole for awhile. NT stopped over and there was some strange flirtation, ass slapping, phone book throwing business going on. It seems that I could be interested if something were to ever happen, but life is just so much more confusing than that. I think I'm destined to be single. And I'm okay with that. I feel bad for NT though. It seems that some woman really did a number on him at one point in time. Monika thinks he wants to try to marry into our family. I think that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. He is good people though.

Decker, Danny and some guy named Buddah showed up later. I adore Decker. Although, he gets really depressed when drinking. I think by the end of the night most of us were depressed to some extent.

Since arriving in Charlotte, Monika has found a job waitressing at Pike's. I hope that works out for her considering all the lunch business they do. I'm so happy for her. Decker and Megan are coming down at the end of the month to go white water rafting. We're trying to convince Decker to move in and be our resident futon sleeper. I don't know if that will happen, but Decker needs to get out of Blairsville. No joke.

I really wish this were more interesting, but it's just what's going on right now. Go see Saved. That movie is hilarious.
