Jensen doesn’t usually catch the shuttle on his way home; he brings his car to campus, but his car’s been having issues lately and Jensen seriously doesn’t want to risk getting stranded on the side of the road somewhere. His roommate Matt’s a mechanic and said he’d take a look at it, but it seems like everyone’s been having car troubles so his car’s been put on indefinite hold.

Jensen’s glad that Texas University has a good shuttle system that goes wherever Jensen needs to, be it around town or just from his and Matt’s duplex back to campus.

He gets on the shuttle, thankful that it’s actually on time today, and drops into the first seat. It’s pretty empty, with it being sort of late, and Jensen can hear humming coming from the driver. He looks over at him and sees the profile of someone really hot. The guy is shaking his head to the music playing, mouthing along, and tapping long fingers on the wheel. Jensen can see dimples, floppy hair, and moles. The guy looks over and smiles at him, and Jensen feels a hot swoop in his belly. The dude’s smile could stop wars.

Hot Dude turns back around to face forward and starts to drive again. The Pussycat Doll’s ‘Don’t Cha’ comes on, and the guy laughs before he turns it up a little. Jensen will claim until his dying day that the only reason he knows that song is because of his little sister, Mackenzie. But the guy has no qualms about knowing it. He bounces in his driver’s seat a little and starts singing. Loudly. Like he’s the only one in the shuttle.

As Hot Dude dances in his seat, Jensen will also deny that he has naughty visions of himself climbing atop his lap.

Jensen can’t do anything but stare open-mouthed at him as he sings almost every line perfectly. Not just the chorus, but also the other parts. His voice isn’t the best Jensen’s heard by any means, but the fact that he knows the song is mind-boggling.

The song ends and everyone on the entire bus claps loudly, whistles and catcalls too. Jensen can see a flush rise up on the guys’ cheeks but he waves in the mirror.

“Thanks ya’ll. I’ll be here all night,” and then he winks. Yeah, Jensen’s totally a goner for this guy.

“That was pretty good,” Jensen tells him, surprised he manages to speak at all. The guy glances over and Jensen can see that dull flush again. Damn, the guy even blushes prettily.

“Thanks,” he chuckles, “everyone’s gotta find some way to pass the time right?”

Jensen nods in agreement; driving the bus can get lonely, he imagines.

“So I haven’t seen you on this route before,” he says.

“Oh, my car is in the shop. Had to find some other method of transportation.”

“Luckily we’re here then. You got to see my awesome performance,” he laughs.
Jensen laughs too, because he thinks he did get pretty lucky.

“I’m Jared by the way,” he continues.

“Jensen.”

“Year and major?” he asks.

“Senior and I’m doing physical therapy,” Jensen tells him.

“Oh that’s awesome. I’m a sophomore and doing education,” Jared says with a big smile.

“That’s really cool. I have major respect for guys going into the teaching field,” Jensen says and he does. He thinks it takes guts to go into a program with mostly girls and stay with it because you have the passion.

“Thanks, I’ve always loved kids you know?”

“Yeah, I actually wanna do pediatric physical therapy.”

“Oh man, that makes you even more awesome!”

It’s Jensen’s turn to blush and right at that moment, the shuttle stops at Jensen’s stop. Jensen gets up, trying to take his time because he doesn’t want to go. Conversation was flowing easily and he really wants to get to know Jared more.

“I guess I’ll see you around? Since your car is in the shop and all?” Jared says and Jensen’s hoping he’s not mistaking the hopeful tone.

Jensen nods, relieved, noting in his mind the time of Jared’s shift. “Yeah, definitely. You at the same time?”

“Yup. Same shift all week.”

“Awesome, I’ll see you later then,” Jensen says, looking forward to any and all future encounters. He’s actually kind of glad his car had all these problems with it because it gave him the chance to meet Jared.

“Can’t wait,” Jared says, winking at him again before waving and closing the doors after Jensen gets out.

Yeah, Jensen can’t wait either. He has a good feeling about Jared.
