Long Time No Post
It's Friday, Friday, getting down on - ugh this song. You know it's Friday when you hear the kids singing this in the halls haha.
ANyways, my 4 week block is almost done!!! Monday is my last dayyy. It's definitely been a blur. I would say overall, a good experience. Aside from trying to 'manage' their behaviour, I enjoyed the kids. Definitely gonna miss some of them when I'm gone haha.
I'm gonna post some of the kid's artwork!
These are the stained glass ones. I originally only planned to do them with the grade 7s, but the grade 8s saw them and really wanted to do them too. So we did. I'm very impressed with their work. Some of them turned out very nice.
Here are some of the standing mobiles from the grade 8s.
For the grade 7s, a smaller assignment was a scale drawing one, where they had to increase the size of an image using a grid.
The cat one is an example I drew, and the other two are student exemplars.
Monday will be a pretty easy last day. I'm gonna give my students a math quiz. And we won't have our usual grade 7 art class because they'll be on a field trip. And in the afternoon, I'm supposed to teach language, but I guess it will be more of a wrap-up since I just finished teaching a unit on essay writing.
After that.. well hopefully I'll get a job. I'm actually pretty excited because I mighttt get a call back from the pottery painting place I went to just last week. And speaking of which, here's my mug, glazed and then fired:
I picked it up today. When I walked in, I think it was the manager who was working. It took a while for her to find my package haha. And we she did, she said mine was very nice, and even took a photo of it to add to their website =). She also mentioned that she received my job application (must have recognized my name on the package). So yea.. we chatted for a few minutes, talked about my availability. She said they're definitely thinking of hiring someone else. She gave me her business card, and said she 'hoped she would see me again.' =D. So yea.. it would be great if I could get a job there. *fingers crossed*
