The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

Dec 22, 2006 16:43

It's also known as, Winter Break.

Yes, it's only a week, and it flys by, but this year at least, it seems like it is so so so so so so so so so so so so so needed.

It's also my favoritest sabbat, Yule. I heart Yule, not so much for the giftage but for what it represents, a time when we welcome back the sun and the days start to get longer. It's also a time to reflect on the year behind us and contemplate the year ahead. There's a bit more to it than that, of course, but that's the extreme Cliff Notes version.

In a few hours we get together to celebrate. I hope the HP has something awesome-ly cool planned. ;)

In addition to Yule, as I might have mentioned a time or twelve, Tuesday was my birthday, For those who really want to know, the official gift from my parents was a digital camera. For Chanukkah, I got Firefly on dvd and the Lost calendar. My one complaint about it, is that since it's from Season 2, frickin' Shannon is in it. And while she doesn't have her own month, thank the gods, The bitch has encroached on the ONE with Sayid.

Even though she's dead, she can still hurt. As per Marie's suggestion though I am SO covering her over with a picture of Sawyer. ;)

Also, I got a cool pair of earrings from Jen, with the promise of something else this weekend.

On my actual bday Marie and Moosa came up this-a-way to celebrate. We had dinner at Ciao, which was delicious as always. Marie got me a gift card to Lane Bryant and Madham gave me an iTunes card, both seriously awesome gifts, ty both! Also, Madham wins the award for the first person to sing the Happy Birthday song to me. :)

Lil and I got together for dinner at Widow Brown's last night. She got me Angel season 1 on dvd and now my collection is (finally) complete. Sadly though, she left to visit her family in California next week, so this was our last hang out until next year.

Scott wins the prize for the most creative birthday song singing. Since he's sick, and as he told me, not in "full voice" (I swear he's been hanging out with the chorus teacher too much) He played it for me on a kazoo. Also, sometime next week, pending his wellness, we'll hang out for lunch and gift exchanging.

Looking ahead, There's Yule circle tonight, and then tom'w, Bonnie and I head into the city to meet up with Jen and we'll see Spring Awakning, which I am so looking forward to seeing. And then at night, since High Fidelity tanked and closed, my mom got us all tickets to see the movie Dreamgirls. There's supposed to be some special stuff going on with this movie, so we'll see. Originally it was going to be our Christmas Day movie.

Aightie I have to jet, I have some Yule stuff to put together. Have a Merry and a Blessed one!
