Ok you get the idea.
Friday: In the am. I went with my kid to Scott's art class. After the class, he asked me if I wanted to go see Employee of the Month. I did and then we decided to see if Lil wanted to come too. I called her during lunch and we totally made a plan to see it and then go out afterward. The movie was really funny. Yes, it had Jessica Simpson (bleccccccccch), but it also had a ton more funnier, better people than her in it. Dane Cook, is seriously, awesomely funny. Our new goal is to try to see him if/when he does a comedy gig somewhere around here.
So the actual seeing of the movie part was a qualified success. The going out after, not so much. There are very few bars in Danbury that don't cater to the Girls Gone Wild crowd. And we seemed to hit all of them. So at about 12:30ish we called it a night, but made plans to hang out at Lil's Sunday night. Scott was on movie rental, Lil would of course cook dinner, and I had dessert detail Very important. ;)
Saturday: My parents were leaving for their almost-weeklong trip to Virginia at o'dark o'clock, on Sunday morning, so Bonnie was running around getting last minute stuff, I went with her, because she was like a little (insanely) nervous, like she always gets before a trip. Later the three of us went out for dinner.
Sunday: Totally got woken up when my parents left, but I was able to fall back asleep and woke up at 8. I decided that for dessert, I was going to go to Lombardi's because, well they have the most kickass pastries in a 50 mile radius. And then I thought, it's a nice morning, and we don't have plans until 5, so I decided to do my food shopping at Wild Oats in West Hartford. At the very least it was sure to be a beautiful drive.
We met at Lil's for dinner, movie, and dessert, not necessarily in that order. Lil made pad thai chicken, which was awesome. I brought cannoli's from Lombardi's, and Scott rented Thank You For Smoking. It was a very smart, sarcastic movie. And as I have previously told some of you, Katie Holmes totally did this before she started dating/was brainwashed by Tom Cruise.
And the that brings us up to today, Monday: The long awaited movie, and won tons with Marie. We had lunch first, which was excellent, plus we had coupons! ;) After, we went next door to the movie theatre and saw The Last Kiss. It's a very human, truthful movie. It brings up a lot of issues that hit close to home. Maybe a little too close, but it's an excellent movie all the same. I think it should be required viewing for anyone over the age of 25.
Looking ahead, almost a week of wangst-free, Bonnie-free drama, cuz they be gone! I did though, get my first call-for-help, phone call from my dad.
As for my back-to-git-more-learnin' idea. I'm taking it to the next step. I'm getting catalogs and I plan to go to WesConn during the week to see what credits I need/can be transferred, even though I plan to start at Naugatuck.
