New Puppy ?????
We may be getting another dog as a companion for Zack. He desperately needs a playmate. He just turned two yrs. old and is still very playful & full of energy.
The puppy is a female about five months old and a Heeler mix like he is. The current owner is a guy who shares a rental house with a co-worker of Rem's. They're not supposed to have pets in the house (violation of their lease). Plus the poor little doggy has already developed a bad case of anxiety which makes her have lots of 'accidents'. She is all alone for most of the day and has lived in several places since he got her. Rem thinks she is still young enough to be trained and helped to overcome the anxiety.
I told her to ask if the guy has all her vet records (she's already been spayed and her shots are supposedly up-to-date). If so then the next step is to have them bring her over to our house so we can see how she interacts with Zack & our three cats and vice-versa. Our oldest cat, Karou, is about 13-14 yrs old so she will probably have a cat-fit. ^ _ *
Hopefully, things will work out for the best. I'm not looking forward to the frequent trips outside so the puppy can do her 'business' but that's only until she's older (more bladder control). Plus I still have puppy pads left from when Zack was little. Hey, it pays to save stuff because you never know when it might come in handy.
Hope everyone has a fun-filled time during the upcoming Labor Day weekend. This summer has been so hot & dry, as in Texas-wide drought, that we're glad to see it end. It probably won't really start to be cooler until sometime in October, though.
