And the heat just goes on and on.
So far I am surviving the heat-wave and drought here in Texas. Thank God for air-conditioning!!! Our yard is brown instead of a nice green. I'd even settle for some flowering weeds but they are all dried up also. I keep the bird-bath in the backyard filled with water. The birds really like to play/bathe in that thing. I enjoy watching them from the window in my kitchen. Plus the dog, Zack, likes to chase them when we put him out there (it's fenced-in) for short periods of time.
The summer is really shaping-up movie-wise. Rem and I have seen Thor (damn, he makes me drool), Pirates 4 and Green Lantern. We went to a late showing for Green Lantern last night; that was so much fun. Regarding Thor and Green Lantern, if you go do NOT leave the theater until after ALL the credits have finished. Let's just say, people leave right after a movie finishes and they end up missing stuff, comprende? I finally got to see some really good previews for Harry Potter. We want to see Transformers, Captain America, Cowboys & Aliens and Conan the Barbarian too.
Well, I won't be able to go to an Anime convention this year. But we are tentatively making plans for AnimeFest in September of 2012. Rem has some friends from work who went to A-Kon in Dallas last weekend. Two of the girls had never attended an Anime convention before but the third girl had been to a few. One of the two newbies hadn't ever heard of Yaoi but she knows about it now. I, myself, am a die-hard yaoi fangirl. *chuckles* I wish we could have gone but there is always next year. Maybe we'll all be able to go as a group next time.
Work has been exhausting - things haven't slowed down. It's good for business but it's hard on an old-timer like me. ~ _ ^ I'd rather be reading or watching movies or napping. Time is a precious commodity nowadays.
I noticed that several of my LJ friends are having birthdays soon. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GIRLFRIENDS!!!!!
BTW, has anybody been following the latest Dr. Who series? PBS hasn't shown any episodes in my viewing area. I really miss The Dr. I know that it's quite expensive to get the rights to so maybe that's why they haven't done it.
I also miss reading the fabulous fanfics on LJ but I have not forgotten my LJ friends. Have a fun-filled weekend, ya'll.
