“Would you just listen to me?!”
“I would if you would just say what you mean in plain, simple English!”
“I am saying it in plain, simple English!”
“No, you’re saying it in Mathish.”
“Well, I am talking about math, you know!”
“Than could I get a translation or should I call the UN for an interpreter?!”
“It’s really not that hard!”
“Maybe not for you, but we can’t all be math geniuses!”
“Fine. You want simple, here’s simple: Dad is probabilistically going to kill you for breaking that green bowl and there is no way for you to get another one from Italy before he gets home tomorrow.”
“Damn it. Are you sure?”
“Yes.”
“Wait, are you talking about that green fluted bowl right by the door of your house?”
“Yeah? Why do you ask, Colby?”
"Well, Don, your father told me that it isn’t actually from Italy. He got it at a little art place downtown that sells genuine Italian stuff.”
“How the hell did you remember that?”
“I commented that I loved the bowl and he told me where he got it and I actually got one for my apartment, too.”
“Same color?”
“Yup.”
“How much?”
“Did I pay for it?”
“Do you want for it?”
“That really depends on how much you want it.”
“I’ll give you $500.”
“Done. I’ll bring it by tonight.”
“Yes! See that, Chuck? Dad isn’t going to kill me after all!”
“Congratulations, Don.”
“Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy what is left of my lunch break.”
“Alright. How much did you pay for it?”
“$20.”
“Nice.”
“It gets better. She still has a ton of them in stock. I’m gonna go buy another one tonight. So, Wiz Kid, how does pizza sound for lunch? I’m buying- it just so happens that I find myself $480 richer.”
