Are you kidding me? Greece wins Eurocup, not only agianst Portugal but IN Portugal??
I can remember a lot of Fourth of July's. The past few years it has turned out to be a good holiday for me. Two years ago on the Fourth I had to work, and it rained all day, but me and some people from work all went surfing (despite the weather) and ate barbaque in Seaside before we were scheduled and even though it was uneventful and dreary it was still a great memorable time. On the Fourth of July in 1999 I met Piper. Last year I took Jenn Moulton to our family get together and wound up seeing more family than I usually do during that holiday. In my entire life I can count on one hand (with room left over) the Fourth of Julys that I remember being away from Lion's Park on Boggy Bayou, watching the fireworks from the bed of a truck.
But this year I am in Japan, 12,500 miles from Lion's Park and with no chance of feeling the great vibes that have come during the last decade of Independence Days. I decided I would try to make the most of it anyway. The fireworks were shot off from a baseball feild across the street from the barracks and I got a great view of them coming up over the trees behind right feild as me and some friends sat out on our fire escape. It wasn't so bad but I was more homesick than I thought I would be. I don't often see fireworks without being surrounded by my family. Going through something like this will just make all the future 4ths that much better.
