I think the reason they put such beautiful girls in sitcoms is so that they can get a wider range of demographics and most guys will tune in to see a pretty girl. It may have been Mary Tyler Moore who pioneered this but the concept was perfected by Ginger and Maryanne. Even I had a crush on Elaine Bennis from Seinfeld but never on any of the Brady ( Read more... )

Ok I think I understand what you are saying. People go to places they feel comfortable (Norm and Cliff go to Cheers but not Diane and James Joyce goes to the coffee shop, not a sleezy dive beneath a seafood resturant). There are exceptions to this though, no? Sometimes people want to get away from other people who are like them. Sometimes its nice to go to a place where nobody knows your name. Not so much a bar, but one place I like to be is Emilie's house (I to bring this into an Emilie refrence). I like being there because nobody who lives there is like me. I am an anomoly (sp?) but I can offer perspective on things that wouldn't be there otherwise. In turn, I can learn things from people who are different than me and gain more depth for myself. I can benefit from them and they can benefit from me. That symbiosis man! But still, being James Joyce in the coffee shop or Norm in the bar is always best, its just good to break from the mold every now and then. Are we speaking the same language here?

I liked Harold and Muade. The part were she wants to dig up the tree on the street and he says "You can't do that. It's public property." and she says, "Thats just what I'm talking about!"
The Source was also excelent. I liked all of it, the entire hour and a half was riveting and I learned alot. My favorite part was when Bob Dylan and Alan Ginsberg were at Jacks grave and Ginsberg says "Is that what yours will look like?" and Bob says "Nope, mine won;t be marked." It just gives you a feeling of solidarity with all three of them somehow.
