One last gift...
It's been a rough few days. Thank you all for your support and love. It's made this grief a little easier to bear. I went back to work Friday night and the van was so empty without her beside me. I found myself reaching down to rub her ears a few times. :(
She left me a wonderful gift though. The day before she died, she got a hold of a sheet of paper that had song lyrics printed on it. It was folded in 3rd's and when I opened it up, she had chewed out all of the lyrics and part of the title. I laughed and instead of throwing it away, I put it on the counter for some reason.
The evening she died, I opened that paper and realized that the words left at the top simply said. "I Love You"
I put it in a frame with a picture of us.
