rec! dreams and circus crowds [clint/phil]
yesterday i was looking for a happy-making fic and was fortunate to stumble across dreams and circus crowds by selenay [rated teen; 27k]. summary: Phil Coulson never joined SHIELD. Clint Barton never left the circus. They're destined to meet anyway.
at first, i was a little hesitant because it's an AU (i really like the dynamic between clint and phil at SHIELD). but i shouldn't have worried because this fic is wonderful. without giving too much away, phil is an unhappy place with his life without realizing it and then clint's circus come into town and changes everything.
the same author has also written a fake!boyfriend fic, in which clint agrees to pretend to be phil's boyfriend when phil visits his family over christmas. i haven't read it yet, but i have high hopes for it. it's called kissing under the mistletoe if you want to check it out.
