UGH, as i already said on tumblr, someone hand me brain bleach so i can get that last scene out of my mind. i mean, i sort of knew it was coming. but blergh. the scene went on and on, too. i'm just going to cling to mike's "i've lost everyone i love...trevor, my grandmother, and harvey" (!!) and fanwank the sex with rachel into accute grief over what happened with harvey. yup. i'm sure there'll be a fic or ten along those lines before too soon.
other than that, i feel that i have to rewatch this ep because i'm not sure i actually followed the plot. like, who was suing whom? what did they need money for? wtf was the info in this file that scotty gave to mike? maybe none of this matters and the only things we were supposed to follow were the personal relationships. the plot seemed to have some serious gaps in logic.
speaking of confusing things, i'm also not sure if there was supposed to be a passage of time between jessica telling mike to go home and let the deadline pass, and harvey accosting mike in the bathroom. i guess there was because when jessica and mike talk, it's night (er, right?) and when mike walks out of the bathroom after talking to jessica and harvey, it's daylight. but so confusing! i guess that means mike did indeed go home and harvey found out that mike didn't file the motion? how else would he know that mike let him down?
i'm not entirely sure how i feel about the show coming back to mike's fake!lawyering, but i guess it makes sense--it's the show's main narrative engine, if you will, and thus it drives up the tension. i wish mike had had the opportunity to explain to harvey why he didn't file the motion (i.e. that jessica was blackmailing him). i hope that'll be addressed next season (and in fic!). i'm also sort of looking forward to mike winning back harvey's trust next season because mike will be all eager and attentive and that will be glorious (esp. because harvey won't be able to resist that for too long).
i loved donna confronting harvey about his inability to commit to people out of fear of them hurting him. that was such a good scene (but i really hope that scotty won't become a permanent feature of the firm). i loved louis in this ep. LOVED HIM. seriously, his character development in this season is the strongest out of all the characters, i'd say.
don't really have anything to say about rachel, and rachel knowing mike's secret, except that she better not let that slip to anyone. siiiiigh.
is it summer yet?
