Some days were easier than others. Sometimes it meant less paperwork. Sometimes it meant no meetings. But usually it meant keeping Bianchi away from Lambo.

It wasn't anything new to her - at least, it shouldn't have been. She'd known the boy since he was all of five years old, a mess of hair and always sticky with one thing or another, chasing I-Pin around in endless circles. Still, here they all were, in the new future - the one where he lived instead of died - and Bianchi knew no better.

Today had been blessedly quiet, Tsuna mused, his footsteps echoing through the corridor as he headed from his office to go eat with the family. He gave a light, contented sigh and even allowed himself to smile a little as he pushed the door open.

"Good evening," Bianchi greeted and Tsuna stopped dead, his appetite gone.

"Tsu-kun!" Kyouko beamed, in the midst of serving pasta onto Yamamoto's plate. "...Don't worry! Haru-chan and I cooked tonight!"

While that relieved him, he was still hesitant in joining them until Kyouko herself served him up a plate beside Yamamoto. He took his seat, offering smiles all around, and picked up his fork.

"Did you get through all the reports?" Yamamoto asked, stray sauce already in place at the sides of his mouth.

"Er, yes," Tsuna replied, a little uncomfortable. Bianchi knew - at least, Tsuna was pretty sure she knew - but Kyouko was still a bit in the dark about the actual goings-on and he wasn't really ready to drop that kind of a bomb, especially over dinner.

Before he had much of a chance to cover his tracks, though, there was a heavy sigh from the doorway. "Started without me? That's a little rude, don't you think?"

"Romeo!"

Tsuna's eyes went wide and he promptly choked on his spaghetti, almost too suddenly panicked to reach for his drink. In the meantime there was a flurry of shuffling and the sound of a plate crashing into the wall, shattering upon impact. Lambo screamed and dove immediately for the corner, pulling a couple of the extra chairs stacked there in front of him like a barrier.

"Yamamoto!" Tsuna knocked his glass over as he scrambled to grab Bianchi before she could approach Lambo and Yamamoto flanked her from the other side. Kyouko ran over to Lambo, attempting to calm the boy who was already in tears.

"She's really mad this time, Tsuna, hahaha! D'you think it's because it's been so long since they ran into each other?"

"It could be," Tsuna mused, offering Yamamoto a smile. "Bianchi-san! Bianchi-san, listen!" Instead of listening, she simply hurled another dish towards Lambo, noxious and slightly green. The food smashed into the chairs in front of Lambo and helped the plate to stick for a few precarious moments before it crashed to the floor, thankfully without breaking.

Tsuna gave an exasperated sigh, eyeing the damage and hoping there was nothing in the food that would dissolve the chairs. "Just...keep holding onto her," he advised, and then made his way over Lambo.

The boy flinched at the approaching footsteps and kicked his feet some, trying to shrink even further into the wall. Kyouko shifted over a little, frowning at him. "He isn't hurt," she assured him, and Tsuna nodded, taking her hand to give it a gentle squeeze as she clearly needed almost as much comforting as the boy did.

"Lambo-kun," he murmured and Lambo looked up, tear-stained face and watering eyes paining Tsuna a little to see. "Why don't you head down to my office? We can eat dinner together in there." Lambo nodded, but didn't move right away. Tsuna gave him a smile and offered his free hand. "Come on. Yamamoto has Bianchi. She won't do anything. I promise."

Hesitantly and very slowly, a trembling hand reached out for Tsuna's. He stood with Lambo, his hand falling from Kyouko. "Just stay here and out of the way, Kyouko-chan, okay?" She nodded and he placed a kiss to her worried forehead. Then, keeping his body between the boy and the enraged woman, he cautiously walked Lambo to the door. However, the moment he opened it, he was met with a most welcome face.

"Ciaossu."

"Reborn! Thank God. Look, Bianchi-"

"Reborn!"

Reborn said nothing and merely sidestepped. Tsuna was just about to ask why, when Lambo was suddenly dropped to the floor, absolutely covered in spaghetti with an almost unbearable stench.

"Now, now, Bianchi. Why would you waste food on someone like that?"

Tsuna hurried to pull Lambo out of the way as Bianchi tripped over Yamamoto, Tsuna, Lambo and herself to get to him. He helped Lambo to his feet, half-smiling as he heard the familiar strains of Lambo's mantra, and began to walk him down the hallway to the bathroom to get him cleaned up.

Clearly, some things really would never change.
