Over the last three years, I've been involved in a number of game writing teams, due to a desire to learn from more experienced writers how to write better games; because bigger games need multiple writers; and also because the people involved are generally fun to be around.
With some groups, I've hit a few perfect notes. With others, I've written perfectly okay games. Others have taught me a lot. And I've watched in horror as some groups with studded boots kicked our nascent games to death.
I have a sinking feeling it might get harder to stay detached from these little idea-babies I create with other people as time goes on. It certainly doesn't seem to get any easier.
