The Idle Woman reviews one of my very favorite novels:
Rosemary Sutcliff's Sword at Sunset (which is the book that forever ruined all other Arthurian adaptations for me).

I wish I had access to
this at work. Speaking of work, Corporette provides an overview to
developing a capsule wardrobe for the office. I have to admit, I rather like the idea, but it would require getting rid of some of my colors.

Evidence that some people have too much time on their hands. I found this article about Napoleon interesting but I have no idea if its conclusion is sound.
Was the battle of Waterloo unnecessary? I also found
this article about museum collections and financing interesting, but again I have no idea if the idea is sound. I do love the idea of museums going completely free, so people can spend as much time there as the art deserves. OTOH, not so sure about the idea of selling off (some) of the collections to fund such a project: often collections can be more valuable in the future for research than anyone realizes in the present.
Oh, hey, New Hunger Games trailer:
here.
And a trailer for
Suffragette, with Cary Mulligan and Meryl Streep. (YAY Abi Morgan!)
One more trailer:
for The Martian, in which Mark Wattney eats a lot of potatoes. Clearly influenced by
my review, Ellen Degeneres has optioned
Naomi Novik's Uprooted.
Oh, and as
monanotlisa noted, we went to see Spy with Melissa McCarthy (and Miranda Hart and Morena Baccarin and Allison Janney), and lo! we laughed a great deal. It's hella fun, and the credits are fantastic, and they could totally make a franchise out of that if they wanted to.

The Narnia Fic Exchange is back, and I just realized that I don't think I've posted any fic since last year's exchange. Woops. I shall have to consider signing up again, definitely.
