2. Don't drop an anonymous comment on an unrelated post on his LJ advising him to kill himself.

Yeah. And for damage control he should have at least made a second account claiming that the first was in fact a sockpuppet, only pretending to be the real him, but actually out to ruin his reputation or something.

But that would require an awareness on his part that his behaviour was obviously beyond the pale and would reflect badly on him, and I think he thinks he's some kind of crusader fighting for the rights of writers not to be reviewed by editors.

...and I would make a crack about white dresses, but cross-dressing is a basically healthy activity, whereas being an ass on the internet isn't.
