I can't believe he didn't at least sockpuppet some of that. And fandom has seriously altered me that that's my second thought.

Yeah. And for damage control he should have at least made a second account claiming that the first was in fact a sockpuppet, only pretending to be the real him, but actually out to ruin his reputation or something.

But that would require an awareness on his part that his behaviour was obviously beyond the pale and would reflect badly on him, and I think he thinks he's some kind of crusader fighting for the rights of writers not to be reviewed by editors.

Oh, god save us from those self-described ronin on the internet, fighting for the little guy. They always claim that, and they're always really avenging some slight they suffered that has become too great to be borne.
