So I had intended on posting more in the past month, but I took this online class for my professional development.
I need to gain a specific number of hours by next June in order to re-new my teaching certification and I found out recently that none of the things my school does count. So I need to take these online classes. That book sopped up my spare time. Plus teaching is taking me longer to prepare for now that I have to re-design everything from scratch for reasons I still am not sure I completely understand or agree with.
I am severely burned out and in serious need of some down time, which I will get in two weeks for spring break. I could also use a trip to the spa, but I don't see that actually happening for awhile.
However that is another tale.
Today we speak of the fun that was to be had last night. Josh and our friend Jake are born about a month apart from each other. We decided to celebrate by going to Rathbon's Steakhouse. We celebrated Josh's birthday late and Jake's birthday early. Presents were exchanged, I got Josh an electric water heater kettle thing for all the tea he has been making lately, and we had a glorious meal. As Jake's girl Jess said, "Nothing in that meal was meh. Everything was delicious. It was like, the best meal I have ever eaten." Rathbon himself came out and asked us how everything was and thanked us for coming out. Josh likes him because he beat Bobby Flay on Iron Chef. I like him for this reason as well because Bobby Flay seems to me to be a little bit of a jerk. However, the man's food is amazing even without that accolade. We had bread and salads and steak and delicious desserts...oh and some mighty fine wine. It was awesome!
Today, because I am always jetlagged after a time change and even moreso because of last night's decadence, I have been very un-productive. I should have cleaned more of my house for my impending visitors next weekend, but that shall have to happen tomorrow or later this week. Today I went to church, ate food, watched my F-1 boyfriends compete in their first race of the season, and took a 2 hour nap. So, today was good for my soul and sleep deprived body, if not for my to do list.
Ah well, tomorrow is another day.
