So I watched the new
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sneak peek this morning and got mildy excited. Then I clicked on this vid:

...and all the memories came flooding back: The tingling in my spine when I had finished reading the first chapter of The Philosopher's Stone. Queuing up in front of the book store at midnight to get my hands on a copy of The Half-Blood Prince and then The Deathly Hallows. Nearly jumping out of my own skin during the scene in the second movie when the acromantulas surrounded Harry and Ron in the Forbidden Forest (I'm pretty sure the five-year old seated in front of me was a lot less scared than me). Almost getting run over by a car because I didn't watch where I was going as I was reading the final chapters of The Order of the Phoenix. All those nights I stayed up to reread my favourite passages in The Prisoner of Azkaban and later
The Shoebox Project, the first fanfiction I ever read and the fic that introduced me to slash. Harry Potter was my first fandom.
Suddenly I am wildly excited about the final movies.
