Le Strange - Pearlfish
Okay, prepare to be weirded.
Meet the pearlfish.
He's very nice. And also, rather shiny.
Oh, and he also lives up a sea cucumber's butt.
No really. This fish lives in the digestive tract of a sea cucumber. Most of them are commensal, meaning they do no harm to their host (Carapus Acus). However, there are some species (encheliophis) who are known to eat the gonads of the cucumbers they inhabit. Ouch.
Still. It's pretty cool. Here's a pearlfish in its... home?
Ew. That one needs a bath. (Actually, some of them are just dark pigmented, unlike mister shiny up at the top.)
