Chapter 1, part 8

Posted a bit early, to make sure it gets done, since I didn't get a chance to do it last week:

Reine sat back from her friend, her slender white hand resting daintily on the swell of her crimson gown in a pose that denoted shock. "You have to… I'm sorry, are you proposing to go and find the lamp yourself? My dear, that's…"

Rosie scowled meaningfully. "You don't think I can do it? You think I'm a simple country lass?"

The sorceress smiled, her brown hair swirling around her oval face and dark features. "Rosie, my dear, you never cease to amaze me. You're right, of course. You should take this, at least for part of the journey. And of course I will go with you. But you know that this journey will be dangerous. There are many dangers, and Angra's men will be searching for this map. These are hardened killers, who will not hesitate to slay you without a thought. How will you defend yourself against these foes?"

The young girl sniffled. She continued to look unfalteringly at the wizard.

Reine continued, "Let us not plan to see this quest to its end. We will take it somewhere that we can trust people, and we will give it to a wise group. They will decide what best course of action we should take. They will also choose who will be the best to go on this mission."

Rosie inhaled deeply. Her nightgown heaved sullenly as she shifted her weight.

The sorceress went on. "We'll take it to the Stagling city of Rana-Liscoma. The Stagling council will decide what is the best course of action. I trust their judgement, especially when I give them my best impartial advice. The Ick'clish may send some delegates as well. This will affect them. I doubt the Ængoa will send anyone, and even if they did, I already how what they would say..."

"Reine!"

"Sorry. You’re right. We should make plans."
