So today was probably one of the best days me and Travis have had together in a loooong time... and that is because we got some much needed ALONE time... which is probably more rare than of any of the elements on the periodic table over a hundred... geesh... I'm a dork, but if you knew anything about chemistry... you'd have a sense of what I mean.
After I left work today, I went home and got all jazzed up and we went to St. Matthew's mall. We grabbed a bite to eat there (since we are saving all our money for PANAMA CITY... more to come) and shopped a bit. I got an Office poster of Dwight... it's pretty sweet. Then we came home and watched several episodes of the Sopranos since my parents are out of town. They went to my aunt's house in Tennesee. Anyway, we just had a really good night; made some cookies that were de-lish. Just a really great night considering we don't get to see each other that much and when we do, he's always really tired.
Buttah... yeah, we are goin to Panama City Tuesday! My good friend Stephanie and her fiance invited us to come stay at her fiance's mom's condo. Two bed rooms, two showers, big kitchen and living room area, right in the middle of everything, right on the beach... perfect! I soooo can't wait! I had to do some major talking into with Travis, but he's ready to go now. His last day at Ford was today. Kinda bittersweet, but he's pretty sure he's going to get called back. If he doesn't, oh well... he's made over $20,000 and bought me a really nice rock; nothing to be sad about. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to put a down payment on a house next summer. I'm going to have like $4,000 at the end of the summer that I'm going to put in savings, so that's pretty sweet.
Speaking of money... my internship is awesome! I couldn't have asked for a better lab to work in! I love all the people, and for the most part, I like what I am doing. It's not hard at all. I work with cells and carcinogens, and stuff like that. I also have had my hand at disecting rats! Pretty crazy. But I really do love my research, and I love that it pays good and that I'm getting credit for it. As to whether I'd want to do this for the rest of my life, I don't quite think so. But keeping my options open, nonetheless...
Went out to eat with Lauren (Parrish) and Stephanie (Gratton) last night. They are my really good friends from school. We are chem nerds. We suffered through last semester together forshure... I don't know what I would have did without them. I don't know how many hours we would sit in the computer lab til midnight when they closed and then go to each other's houses and work on our lab reports til 5 in the morn. They are the greatest. If I can leave college and say I've made two really great friends, then the whole college experience was worth it. We had a really fun time though last night, which we always really do.
Anyway, that is my life in a nutshell. Things are looking up. I've had a lost of shit happen this summer that I care not to go into, but it's finally starting to feel like things are on the up. I just hope Panama is a blast because I can't wait!!!!!! We are going to buy some fireworks and light them on the beach and drink strawberry daquiris. I'm pumped!
