A couple of updates:
My norm violation project took a strange turn. I wore my OLMA uniform to school and I had to write a paper on how it felt to be out of the norm and observe how others reacted to my outfit. Here's the problem: hardly anyone reacted!!!!!!! Only the people who had no clue who I was asked any questions. Those were mostly freshmen. Apparently, I dress out of the norm everyday and wearing a uniform to school is not out of the realm of what I would do. So that's why no one asked any questions. None of my teachers reacted either. Today, my english teacher was talking about a persuasive essay she wrote in college on how students shouldn't have to wear uniforms. She went on to say they were expensive and uncomfortable until I piped in that they are a good investment and last a long time. She then asked if I had ever had to wear a uniform. This is where it turned into a giggle fit. I shouted "Didn't you see me wearing one two weeks ago?" She responded "You mean the day you wore those tall socks? I didn't really think about it. You usually wear different paraphernalia, so I didn't really notice." Yes, she really used the word paraphernalia. At this point the whole class was roaring, including me. It was funny and also satisfying. It has reassured me that I am unique and that living in this tiny town has not changed who I am. A guy in my class suggested that I wear just a plain t-shirt and jeans, and see how people react to that. That's just plain boring.
My Arashi CD came today. Registered mail takes forever.
I hope everyone out there got the math bumper sticker I sent out on Facebook. It's one of my favorites.
I discovered a program in my computer that helps you make your own comic book. I'm having fun with it.
Katie, do you know where you are going to college yet?
Not much else, TTYL
