I notice they changed the programme summary and title for the re-run. Maybe a second opinion was needed to work out it wasn't about Alexander?! Absolutely. You cannot cover Alexander and the Successors all in an hour. It just cannot be done properly. What worries me is people who watched that programme with no previous knowledge may have been completely confused and misled by it all. And you're right, it really told us nothing.

The diving I don't mind (when I went to Alexandria I did some underwater archaeology so I really have no leg to stant on there XD). The hispter scarf is totally another matter. Is it wrong I had dreams about strangling him with it by the the third 'Alexander was incompetent' dig? And the Iliad... I sort of get it, but, you know, WHY? He's not Alexander, he doesn't have to sleep with it under his pillow. *Cries tears of pain*

The sources can (and I say this with the utmost love) be a bit of a drag. My favourite is Plutarch because he's so wonderfully gossipy. Sorry about the pendant (although I'm curious as to what it looks like now). Let's hope Amazon get everything straightened out!

Exactly! Unless you have an interest to actually look further then..That's all you've got to go by *shudder*. I'm certainly no expert,but even with the measly amount of stuff I've read into,it still looked pretty iffy.

I was not jealous of that scarf though, and I did laugh at that image of him stood on the ferry in his get-up, showing off The Illiad to everyone and their mother.I know it was just for the shot, but it made me giggle. You can hold it without being all 'Oh..This? Oh..It's just THE ILLIAD, oh yes, I've read it, several times..ohohoho'

Hahaha, It was like anything Alexander achieved had to be immediately followed with a 'BUT- he was actually a tyrant who couldn't do anything and totally sucked lol.'



It's quite small pic, but it has Alex on one side as Hercules with the lions head, and Zeus on the back with 'ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ'. I just liked the look of it really,wish I hadn't bothered now lol xD
