Author: Cobalt Mystic
Title: World of Words V: Future Past
Pairing: Spike (sorta, more William)/Xander- pre-slash
Rating: G with that pesky PG warning for boy playing
Feedback: Mys has decided that she actually likes FB, so… constructive crit is fine, just be prepared for Mys to defend/explain her choices, and try not to do any permanent damage, k.
Disclaimer: Just playing with the pretty kittens. Unfortunately, they are not mine, but I will gladly groom and bathe them before sending them back home to Daddy (aka Joss/Mutant Enemy/et al).
Warnings/Squicks: Not quiet as abstract writing.
Summary: A fusing of time.

AN: And thus we come to the 'end' of this little excursion. Mys hopes it was a fun ride for those of you who stuck around. *G* Thanks!

*********

Seven honestly spoken words were all it took to change everything. Words that hammered and worked their way through Spike’s being; shifting the crushed rubble and devastation that was his existence- all the travesties ‘Spike’ had committed, all the weaknesses ‘William’ possessed, the overwhelming desire for belonging and love they both felt. Everything that had defined ‘him’ in his mortal life and his immortal one, examined and appraised. Those seven words transforming the fragments of his life and rebuilding him.
And slowly, for the first time in too, too long, Spike’s eyes began to focus, actually seeing the truth before him.

Eyes met. The eyes of two shadows waiting to be seen, waiting to be more than the images and phrases conjured and envisioned by minds a century apart and hearts eternally intertwined.

Cupping the blonde’s gaunt face, “I should have noticed before. Those wondrous words- they’re yours. The beauty of that world- you created it. My exquisite honey-haired poet- you, my William.”
